Pangolins are mammals!

Pangolins are the only mammals wholly covered in scales, and they are often referred to as “scaly anteaters” due to their diet of ants and termites. There are eight species of pangolins, all of which are native to Africa and Asia.

They belong to the order Pholidota and are characterized by their unique scales, which are made of keratin, the same material found in human hair and nails.
